The striped glaze effect on this piece is meant to echo the mountains, treeline, and sky. The folksong influence behind “timberline” comes from one of my favorite songs, Carolina in the Pines by Michael Martin Murphy:
And we'll talk of trails we've walked up Far above the timberline There are nights I only feel right With Carolina in the pines
Listening to the song makes me feel like I’m in a Bob Ross painting, looking down from a mountainside over a sea of happy trees. And probably having soup in this bowl.
Food, dishwasher, and microwave safe, but I recommend washing by hand and limited microwaving.
