I live right next to a forest preserve full of beautiful old white pine trees. Anytime I’m feeling down or just need some quiet and space, the woods are always right there waiting for me. I put on my favorite folk songs and go wandering and dancing down the forest paths, full hippie. It’s my magical little escape, and I always come back feeling like the woods have breathed some life and joy back into my bones.
The theme song for this bowl is Meet Me In The Woods by Lord Huron. It’s kind of this eerie anthem about personal transformation, confronting the unknown, and shedding your past self.
The glaze on this piece has a hammered, rusted look. It has a weathered oxidized finish, accented by a glowy coppery color. It reminds me of the last bit of evening sunlight flashing between the trees before the woods go dark.
Food and dishwasher safe, but I recommend washing by hand and avoiding microwaving.
