Lavender is one of my favorite flowers. My mom has always had the most gorgeous giant bushes of it, and that sweet summer smell takes me right back home. The design inspiration also comes from the song Lavender’s Blue. It’s a 17th-century English folk song, but I learned it by way of Nancy Cassidy on one of the Kid Songs albums when I was little. Burl Ives also has a lovely version.
This small vase is made in a stoneware white clay with a brown clay layer painted over it. The carved lavender design reveals the white clay underneath.
Food, dishwasher, and microwave safe, but I recommend washing by hand and limited microwaving.
