Foothills Mug

The inspiration behind this hand-carved, hand-painted piece comes from the foothills just outside the small town where I grew up, and a beautiful choral piece I performed in high school choir called I Will Lift Mine Eyes Unto the Hills. While the song has religious roots, I've always connected most to its poetic imagery of looking toward the mountains for renewal. 

The idea also reminds me of The Sound of Music, my favorite movie of all time, and the classic cinematic theme of finding strength and freedom in the hills. Whether through the vast beauty of nature or simply the quiet perspective of high, remote places, the mountains have a way of making us feel connected and held by something larger than ourselves.

Food, dishwasher, and microwave safe, but I recommend washing by hand and limited microwaving.
